On our podcast ‘Tales That Tethr’, tethr Founder & CEO Matt Zerker interviews entrepreneurs, experts, thought leaders, and regular people about what is means to be a man, the challenges that modern men face, and how to overcome challenges and live life in a more connected and authentic way.

For International Women’s Day, we're taking a moment to recognize just a few of the women who inspire our work at tethr on a regular basis. To kick us off, our co-founder Addison Brasil took a moment to highlight 5 powerful messages from 5 inspiring women that have guided tethr's mission and work.

Brene Brown - The Power of Vulnerability

Addison: "Brene Brown speaks about getting in the arena to practice vulnerability and courage. Tethr seeks to be a safe space where men can do just this."

Jada Pinkett Smith - Confronting Mental Illness

Addison: "week after week, Jada Pinkett Smith hosts open and honest conversations from the red table. I admire her ability to rumble with emotions, have real conversations and honor the journey."

Jenifer Merifield - How Avoidance and Procrastination Are Really Affecting You

Addison: "fellow Canadian mastermind coach and excellence mentor, Jenifer Merifield continues to lend expertise to the tethr mission and advise our impact team. A true wealth of wisdom and heart-centered life hacks.

Mel Robbins - 5 Second Rule

Addison: "We want to personally thank Mel, for getting each of our founders out of bed on hard days in, you guessed it, 5 seconds or less."

Cleo Stiller - Modern Manhood

Addison: "A rising voice in the men’s mental health conversation and a constant force of inspiration, we are always thrilled to team up with Cleo to chat about modern manhood. If you haven’t read her book or watched our live conversations with her- now is the time."

Bonus: Our Mothers

Addison: "Only in retrospect do I realize how hard my mother worked to maintain an open, safe and honest space for me and my siblings to share our worries, dreams, failures and fears. I am grateful everyday for her resilience and to have been supported during my grief processes by a conscious strong woman and parent."

This list is a small sample of the many women who inspire tethr. We would not be where we are today without the women in our lives and those professionally championing us. We invite our community to take a moment today to recognize the work women do, either in your life or publicly, that makes your world a better place. However, we also know that recognizing the contributions women make in our lives in only one piece of the awareness that International Women's Day seeks to highlight. We can all work harder not only to uplift the accomplishments of women but also to recognize and call out the inequalities that still exist.

tethr is the first peer-to-peer support platform that connects men for open conversations about real life. We provide men with a safe, barrier-free online space for open dialogue and genuine support, allowing men to connect deeply with themselves, other men, and everyone their lives touch.
